Former Domestic Helper to a Mushroom Entrepreneur
ButtonsUp Mushroom Farm was founded by a former Domestic Helper in Singapore.
Egay attended trainings and seminars about mushroom farming but just like most of us, her problem is capital. Luckily, Egay was able to built ButtonsUp Farm with the help of fellow OFWs, friends and loved ones. Department of Agriculture supported the farm all the way too
The farm is a story of friendship, love and helping one another. Working abroad is not easy, there are a lot of trials, hardships and that became determination of Egay- ButtonsUP Founder.
Last February, the Farm was featured in GMA7’s Unang Hirit regarding the Famous Salted Egg Mushroom Chicharon. Everybody loves it being guilt free snack – totally no MSG.
ButtonsUp Farm represented Region 3 in the National Mushroom Congress in Tagaytay by the Department of Agriculture
They did Talks for Colegio De Sta Monica De Angat and Manila Water, helped students from University of Asia & the Pacific regarding their thesis about SME and entrepreneurship and they are also having partnerships with LGUs such as the Municipal Mayor of Marilao Bulacan etc.
ButtonsUp Farm started with little capital, now it’s continously growing. Thanks to the determination and dreams of Egay. She’s able to not only provide for her family but also provide jobs to the community.
She’s an inspiration to us all that being a Domestic Helper and no capital is not a disadvantage. She’s able to turn her life around with a good business idea.
Sabi nga ni Egay, Dream Big! Because dreams do happen
Right now, Egay is Full time and hands on doing mushroom cultivation. Sh’es having a good time with her family.
