The Envelope System: simple but very effective way to budget your money I remember my officemate and I were going to the ATM right after we received our pay. She saw me holding my whole month’s salary. She curiously asked me "Where will you spend your salary?" Upon seeing her curios reaction, I told her about the budgeting system that I have and how it helped me manage my finances.

Every year, millions of Filipinos seek work aboard. The temptation is overwhelming: a chance to earn a salary twice or thrice than what they’d normally receive in the Philippines. But despite having huge salaries, many OFWs still feel about never having enough. Is it true that high salaries comes higher expenses? Most of the OFWs priority is to provide for their families’ daily needs because of this some of them loses their control of  finances because of "urgent/emergency" needs. We can also say that a few of them increase their lifestyle unknowingly.

What OFW’s don’t tell you about life abroad? "Sana makapag-abroad ako” I have heard this line many times from young graduates to experienced professionals even to school kids. In fact when you ask young kids what they want to be in life. Some will say, I want to become a doctor, policeman. I heard I want to work abroad just like my tito. This is not a surprise at all considering that Philippines received $10 billion in the first five months of 2014 according to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
